Does ViJay think Annika Sorrenstram will show up one of the world's top golfers,or does he think that she'll embarass herself by playing in The Colonial.
Annika, being the first woman since the 1945 L.A Open to play in a PGA mens sanctioned tourney and flop in the process. It doesn't matter how Annika got into the tournament, and I personally hope it was based on her past ability and not a ploy by the PGA to garner Publicity for the Colonial and Annika herself. I do think that she should have made the cut first before even being considered for entry into The Colonial.
I'm not being Contradictory here, just stating facts that if Annika is good enough to play on the men's pro Tour why not give her the chance to prove herself by going through the men's Q-school.
Another question is,is she taking a spot from someone more qualified to compete in The Colonial?
Is Vijay just pissed off that a woman is being taken into the Colonial despite the rules.
I personally blame the PGA and the people running The Colonial for not having enough backbone to make Annika actualy qualify to play in this tournament.
Does Annika actually have the ability to get onto the green in a minimum of strokes to compete, and is her putting and chipping above average as well. Can she possibly play well enough to prove to herself she can finish in the running for The Colonial.
Vijay doesn't think so even though Sorrenstam was the first female golfer to shoot a 59 and has dominated women's golf like no other in the last 40 years. If she does atleast make the top 10 in The Colonial she should be considered for further PGA men's tournaments and actually have to make the cut.I didn't mention this earlier in my article but next time no sponsor's exemptions. Do it Annika.
