.First of all, there are not enough actual baseball people in today's game.Meaning people with real baseball experience as players in the Big game or the minors, who have come up to be bench coaches, hitting or pitching coaches who moved up to Management positions.

A lot of people in GM or baseball Marketing positions have no experience in baseball and that tends to water down the game because of their ill regarded decisions.

Players are to blame as well for the change, that being money related.Players who started making big bucks in the late 70's and early 80's.

Mark Grove:The game is still great, and more exciting than ever even with the advent of ball players making literally millions per year. Players should not be punished for achievement and making mind boggling salaries, as long as they give back after making High 5 or 6 figure salaries. What I wish is that retired players would go down to the minors and coach up and coming players, even though they would be making a lot less .These player have all the money they need, and going down and teaching others is what's at stake here.

This is America's Game fans.
