This is a repost of an article I did years ago. This is just a blog of my perspectives on sports and some how to stuff on wanting a job in sports.
This post will give you some insight into why you shouldn't vilify athletes even if they did take a banned substance. How much did it actually help their game? Chances are you can't quantify it, and nor will it have a major impact on bettering their pitching, hitting or running. If anything stuff like steroids and HGH help more with recovery because these athletes work hard at their craft.
But read this short article guys, and get a more enlightened perspective.
When Clemens and Wells were each traded from the Yankees to the Astros, and the Padres I said that Clemens would come close to winning 20 again. Well I was right. I'm not always right, but uwritesports.com gives arm chair sports writers the chance to have the guts to bring their sports views on to the national scene and take the chance on being wrong.
Roger Clemens ended up with an 18-4 record which is phenomenal!
As far as Wells goes,I knew he wouldn't fair nearly as well or Have done as good as he could have. Wells is better in short relief at this point. Another pitcher who just keeps shining late into his career as well is Curt Schilling of The Red Sox with a league leading 21-6 which compared to Clemens is maybe one game better at the most. Clemens is 42 and still able to pitch better than the majority of the top hurlers since the mid 80's.
But when Roger gets bombed he gets bombed big time. But one area of Clemens game he's been able to stave off is chronic injuries such as rotator cuff problems and Tommy John related elbow issues. Since Roger is in the twilight of his career and still one of the most exciting Power pitchers in the game today, if you get the chance to watch him live don't miss it.
It should be interesting to see how Roger does next season.I'll make a prediction he wins at least 16 and loses about 10 or 12.That would be a fine achievement for any pitcher in the bigs in the era of home run city.
