It was a topsy turvy season for the Jays.
They did better than I thought but were over run with injuries and issues with players that unfortunately did not have the stats to continue as regular players.
There's been a lot of talk about their starting pitchers as well. But like I said in a previous article on The Sports Fan, I would rather have five, 9 game winners and 3 12 game winners. Then have the short medium and long relievers fill in.
I've always thought your bullpen is more important than your starters.
I'm not going into who they need at certain positions or who should be traded or swapped off for other players. I'm not a GM type, and I think the GM's job should be more of a committee type of position with the Manager John Gibbons, his pitching and hitting coaches having a big say into what decisions Anthopolous makes.
I may have spelled his name wrong.
As well, I think that their scouts should have a say as well. Only to give the GM and Gibbons needed information of players from other MLB teams, Minor Pro players and college and high school prospects.
I don't know what will happen this coming 2015 season.
Think about the impact your regular players aside from pitching play, and if they are giving proper run support. As well, what pitchers have a bigger impact on winning. Starters or relief.
Interesting question, eh?
We'll see what the Jays do in 015.
