Are Pro Athletes Worth It?

Today's true sports fan has a lot to contend with being that today's salaries for top athletes are out of the stratosphere. But a true fan realizes all this and casts it aside and sees an athlete like Alex Rodriguez who has ability beyond most ball players, and lives for the moments which A-Rod excels.

To do well as a pro athlete we have to consider not just how many home runs or goals they can score, but other aspects as well. That being said do they work out regularly and eat properly along with striving to achieve a higher level of performance little by little.

They actually train at higher levels than most athletes and never give up.

Just because someone like a Michael Jordan or Gretzky have more natural talent doesn't mean they don't work at it as hard as others. In some respects they work harder at achieving their goals and subsequently deserve higher salaries.Don't Cha think? Tiger Woods and Mike Weir are two golfers in my mind that excel at their craft and have a loyal following along with an income most of us would die for.

The majority of us although aren't willing to put up with failure and working beyond their limits to achieve what they want. So yes most pro Athletes are worth the price people plunk down to watch them. Also the reason most athletes don't excel is because they choose not to think they can do it as well. I'm not telling you not to support your amateur athletes,I'm just telling you to think about what you have to go through to get to the next level, and you'll see that most pro's know that because you made it to the majors doesn't mean you can rest because you just made 500 grand in one season.

Pro and amateur sports are great endeavors and I love watching athletes excel, and i'm always inspired by a top athlete whether he makes nothing or a million dollars a year.
